Addclass Bots

'''AddClass Bots''' are Playerbots that can be quickly assigned to a player based on a requested World of Warcraft class.

They are available through the Playerbots system on the Shadowmourne Realm.

AddClass bots are designed primarily to help players quickly fill missing party roles.

Command

The basic syntax is:

.playerbots bot addclass CLASSNAME

Example:

.playerbots bot addclass warrior

Supported Classes

The installed Shadowmourne Playerbots build accepts:

warrior
paladin
hunter
rogue
priest
shaman
mage
warlock
druid
dk

Examples

.playerbots bot addclass dk

Gender Selection

The AddClass command supports optional gender selection.

Examples:

.playerbots bot addclass warrior male
.playerbots bot addclass priest female

Numeric values may also be accepted:

.playerbots bot addclass mage 0
.playerbots bot addclass mage 1

AddClass Account Pool

AddClass bots are supplied through a pool of accounts reserved by the Playerbots system.

The server assigns some Playerbot accounts specifically for AddClass use.

These accounts are separate from Random Bot accounts.

The server therefore maintains different account types for:

unassigned accounts
Random Bot accounts
AddClass accounts

Why Use AddClass

AddClass is most useful when a group needs a specific class immediately.

For example, a player may already have:

healer
three DPS

but still need a tank.

They could request:

.playerbots bot addclass warrior

Alternatively, a group missing healing could request:

.playerbots bot addclass priest

Typical Party Setup

A traditional five-player dungeon group contains:

1 Tank
1 Healer
3 damage characters

Example:

Player: Mage

AddClass Bot: Warrior
AddClass Bot: Priest
AddClass Bot: Rogue
AddClass Bot: Hunter

Tank Classes

Potential tank classes include:

Class alone does not guarantee the bot is configured as a tank.

Talents, gear and strategies still matter.

Healing Classes

Potential healing classes include:

Damage Classes

All classes can contribute damage depending on specialization.

Common damage bots include:

Hybrid classes can also perform damage roles.

Preparing a New AddClass Bot

After receiving an AddClass bot, it is a good idea to prepare it before difficult content.

Recommended commands:

Then verify:

level
specialization
talents
equipment
weapons
spells
role

Autogear

Use:

to allow the bot to evaluate and improve its equipment.

Dungeon Use

AddClass bots are particularly useful for Dungeon groups.

A player can request missing classes, prepare them, and then enter the dungeon without waiting for a complete human group.

Raid Use

AddClass bots may also help fill larger groups.

However, raids require more than simply having enough characters.

Bots still need:

appropriate roles
equipment
positioning
healing assignments
tank assignments
boss strategies

Restrictions

AddClass availability depends on:

AddClass being enabled
player permission
available AddClass accounts
realm configuration

If no reserved account is available, the command may be unable to provide another bot.

Troubleshooting

Invalid class

Use one of:

warrior
paladin
hunter

No bot is created

Possible causes:

no available AddClass account
AddClass is disabled
insufficient permission
account pool exhausted

Bot is poorly equipped

Bot has the wrong role
