'''Playerbot Dungeon Guide''' explains how to prepare, organize and control Playerbots for dungeon content on the Shadowmourne Realm.

Playerbots can make five-player content much easier to access, but good results still depend on preparation, group composition, positioning and threat management.

A traditional five-player dungeon group should generally contain:

Example:

Player: Mage

Bot 1: Warrior Tank
Bot 2: Priest Healer
Bot 3: Rogue DPS
Bot 4: Hunter DPS

Creating Missing Roles

If AddClass bots are available, you can quickly fill missing roles.

Examples:

.playerbots bot addclass warrior
.playerbots bot addclass priest
.playerbots bot addclass mage

See AddClass Bots.

Before Entering a Dungeon

Before entering a dungeon, check:

  • player level
  • bot levels
  • tank specialization
  • healer specialization
  • equipment
  • weapons
  • spells
  • talents
  • healer mana
  • pet status
  • group membership

A useful preparation sequence is:

maintenance
autogear

See Playerbot Maintenance and Playerbot Autogear.

Tank Preparation

Your tank should be the best-prepared bot in the group.

Check:

  • tank specialization
  • defensive gear
  • weapon
  • shield where appropriate
  • health
  • threat generation

See Playerbot Tanking.

Healer Preparation

Your healer should have:

  • healing specialization
  • healing gear
  • enough mana
  • proper spells
  • safe positioning

See Playerbot Healing.

DPS Preparation

Damage bots should have:

  • correct specialization
  • correct weapons
  • appropriate gear
  • controlled threat
  • suitable combat strategies

See Playerbot DPS.

Movement Commands

The two most useful movement commands are:

follow
stay

Use follow while moving through the dungeon.

Use stay when precise positioning is needed.

Pulling Packs

For normal enemy groups:

  1. position the party
  2. let the tank engage first
  3. allow threat to build
  4. begin damage
  5. watch healer mana

Do not let DPS bots attack before the tank has control.

See Threat.

AoE Pulls

Large groups can be handled with AoE, but uncontrolled AoE may create problems.

Possible risks include:

  • DPS pulling threat
  • extra groups entering combat
  • crowd control being broken
  • healer overload

Use AoE carefully.

Crowd Control

Some classes can use crowd control to reduce the number of active enemies.

Examples include:

  • Polymorph
  • roots
  • fear
  • stuns
  • shackles

See Crowd Control.

Positioning

Positioning matters in dungeons.

Useful examples:

  • keep ranged bots away from melee
  • place healers where they have line of sight
  • keep tanks facing enemies away from the group
  • use stay before dangerous pulls

Boss Preparation

Before a boss:

  1. stop the group
  2. check healer mana
  3. check tank health
  4. verify positioning
  5. use stay for ranged bots if needed
  6. let the tank engage first

Boss Threat

Bosses should normally remain on the tank.

If the boss attacks a healer or DPS bot, possible causes include:

  • tank did not establish enough threat
  • DPS attacked too early
  • tank gear is too weak
  • wrong combat strategies

See Threat.

Healer Mana

Healer mana is one of the most important dungeon resources.

Do not chain-pull indefinitely if the healer is low on mana.

Allow time to recover between difficult pulls.

Recovery After Death

If a bot dies:

  • stop moving
  • verify the bot's state
  • regroup
  • resurrect if possible
  • use follow after recovery

Bots may sometimes have trouble with:

  • elevators
  • unusual terrain
  • long jumps
  • instance portals

Dungeon Finder

Depending on Shadowmourne configuration, Playerbots may also participate in Dungeon Finder systems.

Random Bots may help populate dungeon queues.

See Random Bots.

Use:

co
nc

to inspect or adjust Playerbot strategies.

Typical goals:

  • Tank → tank-oriented combat behavior
  • Healer → healing behavior
  • DPS → controlled damage behavior

See Playerbot Strategies.

Troubleshooting

Group wipes quickly

Check:

  • tank gear
  • healer mana
  • pull size
  • threat
  • strategies
  • positioning

Healer dies first

Possible reasons:

  • tank missed enemies
  • healer generated threat
  • healer stood too close

DPS keeps pulling aggro

Allow the tank more time before damage begins.

Bots get stuck

Try:

follow

If needed, regroup manually.
